Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

A breast lift, or mastopexy can correct sagging breasts by  removing excess skin and lifting the existing breast tissue to a fuller and  more youthful position.

Dr Matthew Lynch: Plastic Surgeon

There are many reasons to consider breast lift surgery. Often a breast lift is related to improved self-image. Sagging breasts are something that occur naturally with age and as the elasticity of your skin weakens. Sagging can also be attributed to enlarging breasts associatied with weight gain, or following a pregnancy. A breast lift is intended to visually improve the appearance and contour of the breast.

Before you decide to go ahead with a mastopexy surgery, Dr Lynch will review considerations unique to each woman’s breast and desired outcome. Dr. Lynch will discuss placement of the surgical incision and special considerations for improved breast contour and position of the nipple and areola.

Many times a patient will also select an implant in conjunction with a lift procedure to add fullness and shape.

A breast lift procedure is done under general anesthesia and will be completed in a few hours, depending on the extent of the surgery.

Dr. Lynch’s passion for and dedication to breast surgery and breast reconstruction enables Dr. Lynch to obtain more predictable results and the most superior out comes for each of his breast lift patients.

As with any surgery, some discomfort, swelling, and bruising may occur, and for most patients usually resolves in a few days. Recovery after a breast lift will require avoiding strenuous activity and heavy lifting for a period of time immediately following the procedure. Surgical scars will be placed deliberately to minimize perception and will fade over time.
